We're excited to let you know that Exceptional Equestrians will be undergoing some big changes in the upcoming months. For nearly 10 years, we have operated at our current leased facility. This situation has allowed EE to grow and flourish in a way we'd only hoped for. In our spring session, we are currently serving nearly 85 riders, a more than 340% from five years ago. We have more than 70 volunteers assisting our riders every week. We now own 10 wonderful therapy horses.
With all this fantastic growth and success, EE is looking toward the future and after much consideration and discussion; we have determined that the time has come for EE to have its own home. Our Board of Directors has tirelessly searched for the ideal location, and we are thrilled to announce that a location has been selected to house EE going into the future. This location is less that 5 miles from our current home, and currently holds an equestrian facility, so it will need minimal renovations to make it the perfect place for EE. In the new location, EE will not only be able to serve our current clients more effectively and efficiently, but we will also have room to grow to eventually serve as many as 150 clients a week. We will be able to add additional programs, such as the "Horses for Heroes" program, which serves injured United States veterans, and a carriage driving program.
Of course, moving into a new facility will take a great deal of fundraising and hard work. In the next few weeks, we will be launching the "Moving From Disabilities to Possibilities" Capital Campaign, with a goal of eventually raising the $980,000 it will cost to move into our new facility. We ask that you help us in promoting this campaign, and encourage anyone you know to donate. If you are interested in holding a "fun-raiser" to contribute to the campaign, please visit the link to the right for ideas and additional information. If you are interested in donating to the campaign, please click the donate link to the right. All donations are tax-deductible.
We are so excited about this great development, and know it will only improve what is already an incredible program. We look forward to working with you all to make EE even better in the future. Watch the carrots grow as EEMV raises the funds needed to move to its new facility!
